Fancy Something a Bit Different to Drive at Work?

Although van sales took a slight dip in July year on year according to Business Vans, a specialist website, year-on-year van sales are up nine per cent. Could now be the right time to treat yourself or your business to a new van? If so take a look at two of the best on the market, offering you’re a little bit of luxury alongside high levels of practicality.

Mercedes Vito

This is sometimes overlooked for its bigger brother, the Sprinter, which has done phenomenally well. But this van also has a lot to offer. Aimed mainly at the retail sector rather than for fleet purposes, it really suits small-business owners who want to treat themselves a little. It’s able to seat five comfortably and still hold 3.0 cubic metres of load in the back – the rear seats are removable so will allow for even greater loads if necessary. It can be turned into quite a looker with the option of metallic paint, tinted windows, alloy wheels and side bars. If you want a sportier version then opt for the Sport X model that has an amazing 224bhp. A Sport Dualiner comes in at around £26,000 and has great equipment levels, including air conditioning, six-spoke alloys, metallic paint, leather steering wheel and twin sliding doors. All models have a number of features as standard, such as electronic stability control, acceleration skid control, ABS brakes and electronic brake force distribution.

All the engines on offer are refined and the Vito provides a comfortable ride. It is easy to drive and you get good feedback from the steering. All in all, this is great smaller van for those wanting a little taste of luxury in their everyday working life. Do your research and you should be able to source a good deal for your Mercedes van service in Plymouth or elsewhere in the UK.

Volkswagen Crafter Bluemotion

With fuel one the most expensive aspects of owning and running a van, the new offering from VW is doing all it can to change things. Offering around 39.8 mpg and producing only 187 g/km of Co2 emissions, VW are marketing this van from an environmental viewpoint. These improved figures are all down to the eco-technology of Bluemotion that has been added, which through a variety of systems improves the van’s ability to use fuel and reduce emissions. Luckily, these efficiencies have not been made at the expense of practicality and the load space on the Crafter is unchanged at 7.5 cubic metres and payload is around 1,019 kg – down just 8kg on previous versions. You can find a great deal on this van and also used cars in Truro and around the UK by searching online. Volkswagen is only charging a relatively small premium of £475 for this version and this sum should easily be recouped in savings on fuel.

Offering the same levels of equipment as other versions of the Crafter, the Bluemotion does seem to achieve all this without a single compromise to its overall driveability or practicality, making it a leading option in the van market.
